JAKARTA - Caring with youth with achievement of the workplace, government through Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) launched 'ORBIT Seleksi Desainer Indonesia' program.

"ORBIT aims to become a forum for young Indonesian designers talented to grow to the maximum through sustainable capacity building programs that can contribute through the profession," said Triawan Munaf, Head of Creative Economy Agency (Bekr
af) in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/5).

Continuing, the increase in capacity of young designers is expected to compete with previous designers, both at home and abroad. The scope of ORBIT program covers all areas of design namely, Architecture, Interior Design, Visual Communication Design, Fashion Design, Lighting, Product Design, Textile Design, Craft and Landscape

"From all participants who apply to this program will be selected 20 people by curator and will be given mentoring and mentor training by someone who is competent in their field," said Triawan.

The program is divided into Phase 1 in 4th week
of July, where nominees will be interviewed by curator team. in here, participant must bring a maket or prototype. Then Stage 2 in 1st week of August.

Determination of 20 selected designers will directly undergo incubation program with the aim of training and perfection of the model/dummy/mock up/prototype which they make.

Then Phase 3 on 2nd week of August, where selected designers are entitled to capacity building programs at home and abroad and will be involved in Bekraf programs.

"We emphasize that ORBIT is a designer selection, not an audition. This program is a venue for young designers to grow, sustain to be able to contribute to the language and the country. For known, Architecture and Fashion Design has now contributed 17.63 percent of regional opinion on the creative economy sector," he said.

"The criteria is very easy, which has an orginial design and not plagiarism," said Triawan.
