ITU Telecom World 2019 is an annual event held by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an agency of the United Nations which is responsible for issues concerning Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), to boost innovations in ICT within the 193 UN member states and more than 700 entities of private sector.
During this event, Bahaso stole the international public’s attention when its new innovation was announced. Allana Abdullah, the CEO of Bahaso mentioned, "Bahaso's appearance in this forum aligned with our vision and mission which is to increase our contribution in digital literacy in education so that we can improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia, especially those who live in the frontier, outermost, and least-developed regions."
Islamic Education Program
During her presentation in ITU Telecom World 2019, Allana Abdullah introduced a brand new one-stop-solution technology for Muslim Education Ecosystem called “Islami”, a collaboration with the largest Islamic institution in Indonesia, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).
"Since Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim populations in the world, we decided to collaborate with NU to create a new user-friendly digital platform allowing the Indonesian Muslims to have deeper understanding about Islam. This collaboration is the beginning of the other massive plans to support informal education and trainings in Indonesia, especially in religious education," explained Allana.
Bahaso plans to have the grand launching of this new platform in March 2020. Later on, this platform will provide engaging learning content while promoting Islamic values to assist Muslims’ lifestyle and needs.
“We hope that our users can learn about Islam easily from reliable sources through Bahaso," said Allana. Through this platform, Bahaso also aims to create the "Qurani" youth in Indonesia.
